Pedestrian struck and killed on N.J. highway, cops say [Video]

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday night in Atlantic County, authorities in Absecon confirmed.

The individual was hit by a car on Route 30 (Absecon Boulevard) east of the Delilah Road overpass just after 10 p.m., according to the Absecon Police Department.

Local officials did not provide the victim’s identity.

The driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with police, authorities said.

Traffic was interrupted for four hours after the incident.

Police are urging any individuals who witnessed the crash or have information to contact the Absecon Police Department Traffic Safety Unit at 609-641-0667 ext. 214, and direct information to lead traffic investigator, Officer Da’Zhon Bethea.
