Philome pleads guilty, criticizes process [Video]

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Today, in Fargo Municipal Court, Wess Philome pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief; but that doesn’t mean he agrees with the way the charges were levied.

“I shouldn’t have done it, but I felt like there was a better way for all of us to learn from this,” he said in comments following the trial.

Philome painted Pokemon character on a railroad bridge pylon back in August. He tells us in a message that he used water-soluble paint and the painting was washed off.

It took until December for him to become aware of the criminal mischief charges.

The Fargo Police department chalks this up to difficulties reaching Philome, saying he had incorrect phone numbers linked to him. Philome disputes this, saying that Chief Zibolski has his personal cell number.
