Police arrest driver accused of fatal hit-and-run crash that killed 62-year-old Methuen woman Boston 25 News [Video]

METHUEN, Mass. — Methuen Police arrested the motorcycle driver in connection with a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Lowell Street Sunday night.

A 62-year-old Methuen woman died following the crash around 8:30 p.m., police said. The family identifies the victim as Pamela O’Neil.

“I’m angry and really upset,” said Erin O’Neil, Pamela’s daughter. “She was only 62. I thought I would have at least another decade with her before she [got old] and died of old age.”

Erin says her mom was walking to the store Sunday night and when she was trying to cross Lowell Street, she was run down by a person on a motorcycle.

Surveillance video obtained by police showed a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed and striking O’Neil. The motorcyclist then slowed down and stopped before continuing down the road, police said.
