Police in Henan evacuate residents affected by heavy rain [Video]

Central China’s Henan Province issued an orange alert for rainstorms, the second-highest level in the country’s four-tier weather warning system, at 9 a.m. on July 16, according to the province’s meteorological observatory.

In the city of Nanyang, a level-I emergency response for flood control was activated at 8 a.m. the same day, as heavy rains had battered the city from July 14 to 15. As of 10 p.m. on July 15, 382 teams had been dispatched for drainage and rescue work, and 6,417 residents had been relocated.
