Council Bluffs Fire Department said the wind has caused some of the small fires from the weekend that were still smoldering to ignite again.First responders set up command as the fire continues to burn.The call came out at 2 p.m. on Thursday, and around 8:30 p.m., firefighter said the fire was “contained and monitored.”They ceased their operations for the night for safety’s sake because of the old dead trees in the area. Fire officials said about 60 acres of land have been affected by the fire, but there is no homes or property in danger.Crews are expected to be back at it on Friday morning, but they will monitor the situation overnight.The fire is along Interstate 29 near the Pottawattamie County Jail.
