Prevent Injury From Falls (Critical Arm Strength Exercises!)

Did you know that falls are a leading cause of injury and death, especially among older adults?

When you dig into this topic it quickly becomes evident that the level of injury that results from falls is related to the DIRECTION of the fall and one of the most challenging directions is a forward fall.

In today’s video, we look at a recent study that compared forward falls in younger and older adults and the differences in strength that made a huge difference in how likely the head and face were to make contact with the ground. Then, with that info in hand, we’ll look at a logical approach to quickly improving the right TYPE of strength in critical areas.

While fall prevention training may not sound sexy, it’s one of the most important things we can do for our clients as movement professionals and there are a lot of key details that make a huge difference.
