Reminders ahead of Safe Boating Week next week [Video]

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – Summer is just about here, and area waters are going to become crowded.

Which makes it a good time for a reminder about watercraft safety, in fact, next week is National Safe Boating Week. It happens every year, but so do preventable accidents and deaths. Last year in Wisconsin, there were 117 boating accidents, resulting in 47 injuries, and more than half that number resulting in fatalities.

Ryan Propson, DNR Warden Marine Enforcement Team Supervisor, shares ways to stay safe in the video above.
