President Joe Biden said in a letter posted to X Sunday afternoon, “I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as president for my term.”
GOP Presidential Candidate Donald Trump took to his Truth Social account, calling President Biden “the worst president in the history of our nation.”
However, the support for the president’s decision from his party has been big, with former president Barack Obama calling his former Vice President a “patriot of the highest honor.”
