Results of Warren County volunteer fire deparment survey to be released [Video]

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – After several months of public input surveys and examinations of Warren County’s nine volunteer fire departments, study results and recommendations for improved services were released to the public and to volunteer fire chiefs following the Warren County Fiscal Court meeting on Thursday.

Within the report, 60 recommendations were made to address multiple concerning themes throughout the nine departments. Those recommendations were broken down into four major themes, which included funding, service delivery, system fragmentation, and health, safety, and wellness (public and firefighters).

A proposed major change to funding would do away with the departments’ current system, based on monthly dues. According to the report, the due rates have been in place since 2013 with no growth, and the county fire allotment has also remained static.
