A propane truck crashed and started leaking on Curtis Road on Tuesday.

UPDATE: Curtis Road between Neiner and Lake Sanford is now open. 

EDENVILLE, Mich. (WJRT) – Several residences were evacuated Tuesday afternoon after a propane delivery truck crashed and started leaking west of Edenville.

The crash was reported on Curtis Road between Lake Sanford and Neiner Road before 12:30 p.m.

The Midland County Sheriff’s Office ordered all residences within 500 yards of the scene to be evacuated while area fire departments and hazardous materials crews deal with the propane leak.

Investigators could not immediately say how the crash happened, but injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening. The following road closures were in effect:

  • Curtis Road between Lake Sanford and Neiner roads.
  • Lake Sanford Road between Curtis and Adams roads.
  • Neiner Road between Curtis and Levely roads.
