Safety Tip – Eclipse Glasses and Young Kids | Eclipse [Video]

Make sure your solar eclipse glasses are ready for the big show Monday! Young kids may have a hard time understanding the need for the glasses and keeping them on their face the whole time, so here’s an idea to help. 

You’ll need a paper plate, sharp knife, marker, tape, and supplies to decorate your “eclipse mask.” Lay your eclipse glasses face down on the plate. The plate should sit on the table like you’re about to eat off it. Trace the shape of the glasses onto the plate with your marker. First, cut vertical holes directly on the outer edges you traced; the posts of the glasses will go through those. Next, cut a triangle out under the nose; again, cutting directly on the line you drew. This is where the creation will rest on your child’s face.
