Saints owner Gayle Benson launches disaster relief fund in conjunction with GNO Foundation [Video]

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Saints owner Gayle Benson on Wednesday (June 12) announced the establishment of a disaster relief fund to provide immediate assistance to vulnerable citizens and first-responder agencies in the event of a hurricane or other catastrophe.

Working in conjunction with the Greater New Orleans Foundation, the Gayle and Tom Benson Disaster Relief Fund seeks to provide quickly mobilized financial assistance in immediate times of need, organizers said. The amount set aside in the establishment of the fund was not disclosed.

Benson said endowment earnings from the response fund will be issued immediately to provide support for the region’s first-responding agencies in the aftermath of a storm or before its arrival.
