SC Department of Mental Health and Charleston Police hosting free wellness fair [Video]

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – As a part of an ongoing initiative to support the well-being of vulnerable Charlestonians, the Charleston Police Department is partnering with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health to host its second annual “Feeding Our Well-Being” Unity Day Health and Wellness fair.

The police department says this event is key in providing necessary health and wellness services to the unsheltered and those at risk of losing housing.

They hope to use this day to enhance the quality of life for attendees by offering several free services. Those include mental health care, medical care, medical insurance assistance, legal assistance, housing support and utility assistance.

Local organizations and other service providers will attend and offer additional information and referrals.

This event will have something for everybody, with free food, a cooking demonstration by local chef Ra’Gina Saunders and entertainment aimed at children.
