School confirms Clemson University student death [Video]

Clemson University on Monday confirmed the death of one of its South Carolina students over the weekend.Officials said Caroline R. Deer, 20, died on Sunday.The Pickens County Coroner’s Office previously said Deer was a driver involved in a multi-crash Saturday night on Old Stone Church Road near Ridgecrest Drive in Clemson. See video above.Officials said Deer was ejected when her vehicle went off of the road and overturned.She was taken by helicopter to Prisma Greenville, and she was pronounced dead on Sunday, according to the coroner.Another person in the vehicle was also taken to the hospital but has been released, the coroner.Clemson officials said Deer was a senior genetics major from Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.“Our hearts go out to Caroline’s family and friends during this difficult time,” said Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Chris Miller. “We hope for peace and healing to those who knew her …
