Scottsdale Fire going door to door doing fire prevention inspections [Video]

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily)— Dry vegetation from all across the state has fueled many recent wildfires. When that vegetation is close to homes, it can pose a real threat.

Scottsdale firefighters hope to help protect homes in their area from fast-moving flames. Arizona’s Family’s Holly Bock spent the day with crews going door to door doing fire prevention inspections.

The department is going to homes and neighborhoods in their community to inform homeowners to cut down vegetation around their homes so there isn’t a good chance of a fire starting and making its way into their homes or structures.

“We’ve identified a home right here were actually right off of Jomaxx and Pima Roads,” Scottsdale Fire Captain Dave Folio said. “They have ladder fuels coming from this wash up into their attic space so we will ask them to cut that back a little bit.”
