Severance Hall usher left me stranded without my rollator, a potential safety issue [Video]

With reference to Eric Foster’s column on accessibility (”Understanding life every day with a disability,” June 5), my husband and I, along with friends, had the pleasure of attending one of the performances of The Magic Flute at Severance Hall recently. I use a rollator, and one of our friends uses a cane.

After being seated, the usher insisted on taking my rollator, tagging it, and taking it to the back of the auditorium. During intermission, it was not offered to me, and at the end of the performance, after everyone was nearly gone, it was never brought back. We had to remind someone that I needed it to exit. I am not sure what would have happened if there had been a fire, or if I just had to use the facilities at intermission, but I was stranded.
