Shane Lowry cards solid second round at USPGA as Collin Morikawa surges during dramatic and tragic day at Valhalla [Video]

IRELAND’s Shane Lowry carded a second round 69 at Valhalla this afternoon.

The Clara star is nicely placed heading into the weekend at the USPGA Championship after a solid showing in wet conditions at the long Louisville track.

Collin Morikawa of the United States carded a round of -6 to lead the tournament on eleven under par

37-year-old Lowry and his PGA Tour colleagues had to face a delay of 80 minutes this morning due to a fatal traffic accident outside the gate of Valhalla Golf Club.

A pedestrian had earlier been hit by a shuttle bus and killed while crossing Shelbyville Road in a line dedicated to tournament traffic.

He was tragically struck about 5 am and pronounced dead at the scene, with cops and first responders still at the site by 6.45 am.
