Ship that caused deadly Baltimore bridge collapse to be refloated and moved NBC Connecticut [Video]

The container ship that caused the deadly collapse of Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge was refloated and is slowly moving to a nearby terminal Monday, nearly eight weeks after the disaster killed six construction workers and snarled traffic into Baltimore Harbor.

The Dali and its 21-member crew had remained at the collapse site since it lost power and crashed into one of the bridge’s supporting columns on March 26.

High tide Monday morning was expected to bring the best conditions for crews to start refloating and transit work on the ship, according to a statement from the Key Bridge Response Unified Command.

“The M/V Dali became buoyant roughly at 6:40 a.m. As of 7:00 a.m., it is currently being moved by tugboats under favorable environmental conditions,” the Unified Command said.
