Short-term rental group helps find places for displaced families [Video]

ROGERS, Ark. — A short-term rental group is helping connect displaced families to temporary housing after Sunday’s storms destroyed several homes in Northwest Arkansas.

Disaster relief efforts have helped remove trees and tarp roofs, but many are still being left without a place to stay. 

One Rogers homeowner said they had looked through Northwest Arkansas, Fort Smith, and Joplin for hotel rooms to no avail. He finally found a room for his wife in Branson, as the conditions in the home with no roof were making her pneumonia worse.

After seeing people left without homes, Keller William Realtor Misty Van Hooser used her connections to help them find a safe place to stay. The Arkansas realtor works with investors on short-term rentals and runs the Facebook group NWA Short Term Rentals.
