Skeletal remains found in Easton identified as man missing since 2021 [Video]

Skeletal remains that were found in a brook in Easton earlier this month have been identified as those of a man who lived nearby and was reported missing in 2021, police said Tuesday.

Matthew Yeomans, 27, was reported missing by his grandfather on Sept. 21, 2021, according to a statement from the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office. His grandfather told investigators at the time that he had not seen Yeomans since Sept. 19 and that Yeomans had a medical condition and was struggling with mental health issues.

Yeomans’ wallet, identification cards and cell phone were found inside his home of 113 Summer St. at the time but he was not found in a search of the surrounding area.

On May 1, Easton Police Department received a call reporting that a human skull had been found in a brooknear 100 Summer St. by the owner of a home nearby. The next day, a search and rescue team recovered …
