Small plane crashes at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport [Video]

Two people were on the small aircraft, both are expected to be ok.

CLEVELAND — Cleveland Hopkins International Airport has reopened after an aircraft crashed on the grounds of the airport on Saturday evening.

According to Cleveland Hopkins, a small aircraft crashed on the property at approximately 6 p.m. Two pilots were on board the aircraft when it crashed. Aris Delianides, 64, of Virginia was piloting a 1981 Beech A36 fixed wing single-engine plane when he attempted to land the plane on on the runway. 

While attempting to land, the plane bounced back up into the air, nose dived and crashed. 

Delianides suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash. The other person in the plane, 62-year-old Jacqueline Delianides, was not injured.

Cleveland Hopkins temporarily delayed and grounded flights, but quickly resumed regular activities within a few hours of the incident.
