A small plane crashed and flipped over Monday afternoon in a large hay field in Hunterdon County, officials said.

Crews from the Holland Township Volunteer Fire Company responded to field, which is located off Ellis Road in Holland Township, and found that the pilot was not trapped, according to a statement from the fire company.

The pilot suffered minor injuries in the crash and was treated on-site by the Milford-Holland Rescue Squad, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office said in a release.

The single-engine Acro II crashed around 4:30 p.m. and only the pilot was on board, an FAA spokesperson told NJ Advance Media.

The crash is under investigation by the agency and the National Transportation Safety Board. No other information was immediately available Monday evening.
