Smith County works with FEMA to add disaster recovery center [Video]

A date on when FEMA is ready to open its disaster recovery center has not been announced yet.

TYLER, Texas — Smith County Commissioners Court approved an agreement on Tuesday with the Federal Emergency Management Agency to establish a disaster recovery center. 

During the regular meeting, the commissioners approved a memo of understanding with FEMA to establish a center at The Hub, located at 304 E Ferguson St. The center would be place where residents impacted by severe storms can receive one-on-one assistance about storm recovery information and benefits.

A date on when FEMA is ready to open its disaster recovery center has not been announced yet. Smith County will make an announcement once the facility is ready.

Once open, the center would be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
