SOLON, Iowa (KCRG) – With the school year now over for students, teachers and faculty in the Solon Community School District will be meeting Friday morning for a special safety and emergency training session.
Teams with Johnson County Emergency Management and several doctors from the University of Iowa will be leading the training at Solon High School. They’ll be focusing on emergency technology in the schools, including first aid and top the bleed kits, along with things like AED’s and Narcan.
”Now our staff will feel more confident if there’s ever a need for usage of those devices,” Davis Eidahl, superintendent of the Solon Community School District, said. “In case an emergency would occur, they’d be better equipped.”
Eidahl says school staff has a responsibility to do the best they can for their students and want parents to trust them.
