STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — In the early hours Wednesday, while most of New York still slept, the city’s finest were buzzing about on Staten Island’s North Shore, executing a massive drug takedown aimed at keeping the borough safe.

Before the sun had even cracked a smile in the sky, 125 law enforcement officers from across the boroughs–including people from special detective units, several narcotics divisions and even two NYPD deputy commissioners–converged on Staten Island to execute arrest warrants against nearly 20 individuals and search warrants at three locations along a strip of Bay Street in Stapleton.

Federal agents from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service were also part of the impressive show of force.
