Southwest Las Vegas neighborhood protests new gas station [Video]

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Neighbors in a southwest Las Vegas Valley neighborhood are not giving up the fight to stop a new gas station from building in their backyard.

Tuesday night, neighbors living in the Trail Ridge community near Durango and Blue Diamond tried to send a clear message to the Clark County commission, more specifically, Justin Jones.

They say the new gas station will present health and safety concerns.

As FOX5 previously reported, not only did commissioners grant developers unanimous approval for the gas station, but they got special approval to build it closer to the neighborhood than they normally would.

A group of neighbors in the southwest part of the Las Vegas Valley say plans for a gas station are hitting too close to home, literally.

It’s now 40 feet than the previous 200.
