SPARTA, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – A Sparta man is sentenced after being found guilty of homicide. Today (6/27/24) in court, 34-year-old Shawn Hock was sentenced to 33 years in prison and 20 years of extended supervision. In March, Hock pleaded guilty to a charge of first-degree reckless homicide for the May 2022 death of Sara Latimer.
According to the criminal complaint, an autopsy report showed Latimer died of blunt-force trauma. Investigators said Hock had a history of violence against Latimer, including domestic abuse convictions filed in 2020 and 2021 where Latimer was the victim.
