Springfields ArtsFest vendors prepare for weather safety plans [Video]

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – ArtsFest kicks off Saturday, but it’s still spring after all, and vendors must prepare for Saturday’s forecast.

“We could’ve lost everything in our booth over one sale,” said Daniel Fenn, co-owner of DL Fenn Blown Glass.

Fenn travels almost 600 miles, from Iowa to Springfield.

“This may be our seventh or eighth time over the years,” he said.

Fenn and his wife have done glass blowing for nearly 40 years, but with such delicate valuables, they must protect it from damage.

“We’ve had one vase full of flowers blow over in the wind. If it gets really windy and we’re really worried, we’ll set a lot of the stuff on the ground.”

For Fenn, being overly prepared doesn’t always work.

One sale could’ve cost his product and potentially his life.

“We were at a show in Duluth, Minnesota and a young lady was in our booth and it was a terrible storm coming across the lake and she kept wanting to buy something …
