Standard Bank has donated R2.45 million to aid disaster relief efforts in storm-devastated areas of KZN and the Eastern Cape.

South Africa (14 June 2024) – In recent weeks, South Africa has faced unprecedented challenges wrought by severe weather conditions, leaving communities in Kwa-Zulu Natal and Eastern Cape reeling from the aftermath of heavy rainfall and fierce winds.

The bank announced the donation, which aims to bolster the ongoing relief operations spearheaded by organisations such as South Africa Search and Rescue, the Red Cross, Gift of the Givers, and OneFarm Share. These funds will play a crucial role in providing immediate shelter, essential supplies, and nourishment to families grappling with the devastation left by the storms.
