ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A Georgia State Patrol trooper opened fire on a suspect during a vehicle pursuit in Carroll County on Tuesday afternoon, officials say.
At 3:19 pm, troopers assisted the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office with a vehicle pursuit, according to the Georgia Department of Public Safety.
During the pursuit, a trooper fired shots at the suspect and they crashed their vehicle, the department said.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) confirmed they are investigating the shooting, which is customary for shootings that involve police officers.
No further information has been released about the incident.
