Stephen Bradley urges Derry City to take action after objects thrown at Shamrock Rovers fans from outside Brandywell [Video]

SHAMROCK ROVERS’ boss Stephen Bradley hopes Derry City can take action to ensure away fans safety at the Brandywell.

The Hoops beat the Candystripes 3-1 last night, but the final minutes were marred when the 150 visiting supporters came under fire from missiles thrown from outside the ground. 

Building work for a terrace at the Brandywell Road end of the ground means that away fans are no longer based in Southend Stand.

Instead a reduced number of supporters are accommodated beside the Mark Farren Stand at the corner of Lone Moor Road and Brandywell Road. 

But that uncovered area made Hoops fans sitting ducks when local troublemakers – who were not at the game – threw a flare and other missiles over the wall from Lone Moor Road.
