The gun battle unfolded in an upper-floor hallway of the Extended Stay America on San Ignacio Avenue, where Officer Jamie Arredondo was seriously injured after being hit multiple times by Briones’ gunfire. Another officer, Joseph Desroches, pulled Arredondo to safety and applied a tourniquet to his partner before realizing he had been grazed by a bullet himself.
