A suspected drunk driver crashed into a Jefferson City home on Monday afternoon.

The crash happened around 10:55 a.m. in the 1600 block of Edmonds Street, according to Dave Helmick, property supervisor for Jefferson City’s Department of Planning and Protective Services. 

A resident of the home was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of a 2006 Dodge Stratus was westbound on Dulle Street and failed to slow down at the intersection of Edmonds Street, according to a Jefferson City Police Department crash report. The car went over the curb and crashed into the front of the home. 

“It was into the kitchen, approximately 12 feet, pretty much the whole way of the whole distance. So the car was inside the structure,” Helmick said. 

The driver, a 23-year-old man from Jefferson City, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to JCPD. Charges had not …
