Sweetwater police officers honored for life-saving actions in overdose emergency [Video]

SWEETWATER, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – In an emergency, every second counts. That’s why Sweetwater police officers Jeremy Wolford and Bryan Sheridan acted quickly when responding to a call for a woman experiencing an overdose on the evening of May 4, 2024.

“She was unresponsive, not breathing, possibly an overdose. When we get there, it’s pretty apparent it was an overdose, so the family gets out of the room, and John already has his Narcan kit. So, we gave her two doses of Narcan, and she kind of came back to it a little, and EMS showed up and assisted them and took them to the hospital,” explained Wolford.

Thanks to their heroic actions and quick thinking, they were presented with the lifesaving award on August 13, 2024, by Police Chief Bryan Sheridan after being nominated by Fire Lieutenant Eric Medina.
