TARGET has changed the way it is approaching theft in its stores.
As summer begins, the major retailer decided to lower the amount a shoplifter can steal before employees are allowed to step in.
Target employees can now stop thieves who are trying to take $50 worth of items, down from $100, according to Bloomberg News.
“Our priority remains ensuring the safety of the team and guests while maintaining the positive experience Target shoppers expect,” a Target spokesperson told Bloomberg News.
The company’s new policy will reportedly begin this summer.
