HARVEY CEDARS N.J. (1010 WINS) — A teen was killed when she was struck by a propeller as she tried to board a boat from a raft in New Jersey over the weekend, authorities said Monday.
Zeina Mahafzah, 18, at around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday was on a raft being pulled by a boat in the waters off Sunset Park in Harvey Cedars, said New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron.
“The Harvey Cedars Police Department and the New Jersey State Police are investigating a tragic boating accident off of Harvey Cedars. As the investigation is in its preliminary stages, we ask that you keep the family and community in your thoughts and prayers,” the Harvey Cedars Police Department posted on Facebook.
An investigation remains ongoing.
