Teen girl shot by accident in Louisiana Parish [Video]

ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. — A 15-year-old girl was accidentally shot inside of her home in the Goodbee area Tuesday night.

According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened in the 100 block of Eagle Landing Drive around 7:45 p.m.

When deputies arrived at the home, a man related to the teen told detectives he was “handling a firearm in another room of the house when the gun accidentally fired.”

The bullet went through the wall and struck the girl, authorities said.

Emergency personnel airlifted the teen to an area hospital.

The sheriff’s office said the incident is still under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
