TEMPLE, Texas — The City of Temple issued a disaster declaration due to the widespread damage caused by storms on Wednesday, May 22. The city plans to hold a news conference at 10 a.m. Thursday to provide an update on the damage and their planned response.
In the disaster declaration message, the city said first responders were receiving a high volume of calls and are prioritizing ones that are life-saving. Some roads are closed and others are dangerous or impassible so they also encouraged people to stay home.
