TRUSSVILLE, Ala. (WBRC) – A year ago a Trussville teenager was seriously injured in a freak accident after a tree limb fell on him while he was at a golf course.

In that year’s time, Grayson Pope has made significant progress, and his family says its all thanks to support from the community.

Pope’s family hosted a meet and greet Thursday to show their gratitude for everyone who has supported them during this time and invited everyone who has followed along with Grayson’s progress.

“They just stepped up and did it, and they did it not for us, they just did it out of love,” said David Pope, Grayson’s dad.

It’s been one year since the Pope family’s lives changed forever after their son Grayson had a tree limb fall on him, severely injuring him, and put him in a coma for 42 days.
