NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Although Tennessee is not in the path of totality for Monday’s solar eclipse, drivers are being urged to not cause crashes during the Midstate’s partial view of the phenomenon.
State departments are expecting any impacts on the roadways to happen closer to the path of totality.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT)will have help trucks out monitoring all their river crossings in West Tennessee, including in Memphis and Dyersburg at the Interstate 155 bridge. They are encouraging drivers to plan ahead and use one of the 16 welcome centers or rest areas for viewing locations.
Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) is urging drivers to not stop on road shoulders or in emergency lanes in order to look up at the sky for the eclipse.
