Timeline: When MPS board hopes to have new superintendent in place [Video]

The clock is ticking to find two people to lead Milwaukee Public Schools. Current Superintendent Keith Posley resigned June 4, effective June 30, amid the district’s money scandal, including financial reports months overdue, putting millions of dollars in state aid on hold. Monday night, the school board named Eduardo Galvan as acting superintendent. But he’s just a placeholder until the board can name an interim superintendent, then a permanent superintendent. Board member Megan O’Halloran is leading the search efforts for an interim superintendent. “I understand that we need to rebuild trust,” O’Halloran said. “I’m asking the community to stay tuned, to participate and engage in this process.”O’Halloran said the board does not have a finalized list of candidates yet, but once they do, they plan to share it with the public.
