EVERYTHING Tony Kelly touched turned to gold (and blue) yesterday – from his shots to his one-liners.
After putting in a majestic showing around Croke Park the Banner skipper was interviewed on The Sunday Game from their hotel banquet.
The highlight of the six-minute chat came when he reflected on the many years of service every panel member had put in – with one man having put in more than everyone else.
The Ballyea wizard noted: “Every panel member, to a man, has worked really hard for this.
“Not only this year…three, four years…John Conlon’s doing it 20 years!”
At that point RTE host Joanne Cantwell interjected to add: “He did alright though!”
To which Kelly added with a smile: “He did. And he’s doing a couple more (years) …
