CLAYTON, La. (KNOE) – The Town of Clayton declared a state of emergency on Thursday, May 16, due to ongoing water issues.
The town began experiencing a water outage on Tuesday, and water system management crews have been working to restore the water.

Town of Clayton’s Chief of Police Bobby L. Madison, Sr. said they had a water tank, also known as a “water buffalo”, available for residents to fill up any jugs or buckets with clean water to take back to their houses. The water tank holds 500 gallons of clean water.
According to town officials, the water buffalo is still at the town hall, and cases of water will be available for distribution starting at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
