TRAFFIC ALERT: I-20 westbound lane temporarily closed following overturned 18-wheeler accident [Video]

MONRE, La. (KNOE) – UPDATE: Louisiana State Police are currently on the scene of the crash where an 18-wheeler overturned on I-20 eastbound west of Well Road.

LSP and recovery crews are beginning the cleanup process.

According to LSP, the westbound lane of I-20 will be closed for recovery efforts.

Drivers should expect delays. Authorities suggested using an alternative route such as US 80.

MONROE, La. (KNOE) – According to the Department of Transportation and Development, a semi-tractor trailer overturned and caused a back-up in traffic.

DOTD said the left lane on I-20 West past Well Road is blocked as crews respond to the accident.

Louisiana State Police said the 18-wheeler is currently stuck between cable barriers.
