OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Two people were able to get out unharmed after they woke up to a fire in their house early Wednesday morning.
Omaha Fire crews saw heavy smoke as they arrived to the scene near 45th and Jaynes Streets just after 4:00 a.m.
According to a fire official who spoke to a 6 On Your Side photographer on scene, a smoke alarm woke the two up.
They discovered a fire in the kitchen and evacuated.
Crews were able to put the fire out shortly after arrival.
The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
It caused roughly $10,000 in damage to the house, according to OFD.
