UK weather: Met Office names Storm Lilian with 75mph winds to batter Britain TODAY as Bank Holiday washout looms [Video]

BRITS are braced for 75mph gales and heavy downpours after the Met Office warned Storm Lilian would hit the UK today.

Millions across the country are facing a damp bank holiday weekend as the wet and windy conditions sweep in tonight.

Storm Lilian will then move in east across Northern England over tonight and Friday morning.

Met Office have issued two new yellow weather warnings for rain in south-west Scotland and the Aberdeenshire coast from 9pm today to 9am Friday.
