Update: Three teens back in custody after escape from detention center [Video]

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The Lincoln Police Department says three teens who escaped from the Lancaster County Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center were taken into custody in Omaha Friday night, after they escaped earlier in the evening.

On Friday, at 7 p.m., LPD officers and other agencies were dispatched to the Lancaster County Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center, 1200 Radcliff Street, on a report of three escapees. A large police presence could be seen in the area.

According to LPD, staff at the center reported three detainees had forced their way out of the facility and fled eastbound from the area. Officers were first dispatched to the area at about 7 p.m.

They thanked Omaha Police, the State Patrol, and members of the public who provided tips.
