Urgent warning as product from popular bargain site recalled over ‘electric shock’ and ‘fire’ risk [Video]

A MAJOR recall has been issued for an electrical product sold on a popular bargain website.

The extension lead sold on the affordable shopping platform Wish has been issued with a recall.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) ordered the recall due to “risk of electric shock and fire risk”.

They said: “A safety issue has been identified on an Extension Lead sold on the Wish platform.

“The product presents a risk of electric shock and fire risk.

“The mechanical strength of the pins and cable is insufficient so that users are at risk of electric shock and the short-circuit observed during testing could start a fire.”

The Wish ID for the product is 6006c49ed3d832c4710a4ca7.

The model number, barcode, brand and the batch number are unknown.

But it is known that there are two affected products in the Republic of Ireland.
