In part 2 of the series, let’s look at how EU and USA importers must be aware of electrical safety regulations governing the electro-mechanical products they bring into their markets.
Many of these products either plug into mains power or run on lithium-ion batteries, and in both cases, there is a risk to customers.
In part 2 of this series, we explain why the various IEC standards will help you to put appropriate safeguards in place during product design.
We also introduce these sets of regulations which promote electrical safety and allow your product market access by being compliant which is expected by the EU and USA:
– The low voltage directive
– Certification to UL standards
From a safety perspective, compliance with both regulations helps ensure products are safe for customers and the workers producing them, reducing risks of electric shocks, fires, and mechanical hazards.
