Utah State Football Player Dies in Apparent Cliff-Diving Accident [Video]

Utah State University is mourning the loss of one of its beloved football players, Andre Seldon Jr.

On Saturday, July 20, at approximately 9:05 p.m. local time, Seldon Jr. was found by the Utah Department of Public Safety dive team after an apparent cliff-diving incident at Porcupine Reservoir, the Utah State Aggies’ website confirmed. Per ESPN, the late football player was 22.

A press release shared by the Cache County Sheriff’s Office in Logan on Facebook stated deputies were dispatched to the dam at approximately 2:20 p.m. “following reports of a possible drowning.”

“Initial information indicates that a young adult male was seen diving from cliffs into the water and did not resurface,” the message signed by Lt. Tim Ramirez confirmed.
